Tiny Sprouts Fall 2023

Welcome to Lachat's Tiny Sprouts Program!  This is the perfect first drop-off program for families looking to provide their littles ages 2-4 with a nature focused experience and small, intimate classes.  Our experienced teachers provide children with the opportunity to engage in guided play in the outdoors, develop their natural curiosity, build independence, and learn creativity as they explore and engage with the beautiful woods, flora and fauna of Lachat Town Farm. Introducing kids to the outdoors early on in life teaches them to problem solve, climb higher, rely on their senses, test their boundaries, observe, cultivate a sense of place and self, get messy, regulate stress, build immunity, gain perspective and feel connected to the wild! 

For families familiar with past versions of this program, note that there will be a few changes starting in Fall 2023:

• Class will run through the entire school year!  While there will always be a focus on spending time outdoors, the new Daniel E. Offutt Education Center will allow for more robust winter programming.  Registration will be seasonal, with a Fall, Winter, and Spring session.
• The program will run 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:15 am to 12 pm.
• Children must be potty trained to participate.  Pull-ups are ok as long as families are working towards potty training and a caregiver is available to come to the farm if a change is needed.  

Spots are limited and will likely sell out, so advanced registration is mandatory.  This is a drop off program, and kids should bring a change of clothes, snack, and water bottle with them each day, as well as dress for the weather and active exploration outdoors (this may include rain/snow gear, boots, hats/mittens, etc).  

Tiny Sprouts will be held regardless of the weather as long as safety is not a concern.  Note that due to the ongoing schedule of this program, make-ups will not be provided in the event class needs to be cancelled due to unsafe road conditions.  There will be no class when Weston schools are closed: Sept 25, Oct 9, Nov 22, and Nov 24.
