Description

Welcome to Little Chefs, where aspiring young cooks will engage in an exciting culinary adventure! Lachat is so excited to welcome Fiddleheads Cooking Studio, a cooking school designed to create a fun, educational environment for children that promotes food exploration while expanding the taste buds. Brian's Kitchen, in the Daniel E. Offutt Education Center, provides the perfect setting for this special new program. Each week will have a different theme, but the goals remain the same: to get kids excited about being in the kitchen and ignite their curiosity about food.

👩‍🍳 Skill Development: Expert instructors will guide children through a variety of engaging and age-appropriate cooking activities. From basic knife skills to advanced techniques, kids will develop the confidence to create delicious meals.

🍅 Ingredient Understanding: Through hands on exploration, children will learn about different ingredients, their unique flavors, and how to combine them to create tasty dishes.

🥬 Farm-to-Table Philosophy: Daily trips into Lachat's vegetable gardens and greenhouse will help to emphasize the farm-to-table philosophy, teaching kids about sustainable food choices, including the importance of supporting local farmers and making environmentally conscious decisions when it comes to food.

🎨 Creativity: Every day brings a themed craft activity, allowing children to express their creativity while reinforcing the weekly culinary focus.

🍲 Community Cooking: Kids will collaboratively create their snacks each day, fostering a sense of community and shared culinary experiences.

This program will take place from 1:30-3:30pm, and children signed up for Little Farmhands are welcome to stay straight through for Little Chefs! This is a great option for families looking for a longer day.

We looking forward to having your children join us this summer at Little Chefs, where the magic of the kitchen meets the beauty of the farm!
